Carbs & sugar
My Grandma came over today because I told her I was sad. She cuddled me on the couch and said, you know there’s always an easy answer, people just make it more complicated. Sometimes what you need to make things easier is a pastry. Made me feel like a little kid and a giant at the same time. Nothing is too big. My grandma has always been a person to open my soul with just a look. Always there, always kind, always wise. My tears fall easily with this strong four-foot-nine woman.
It’s not normal human behavior to not stress about something stressful. Hell, sometimes I stress about doing laundry. It’s life, it’s not stress free, and that’s okay. Eat a pastry and see if that helps your heart—carbs and sugar. You always have enough time to take care of yourself.
And in the most messy, honest way possible, the people that show up and ask, those who care and love, the ones who listen well, completely wreck me.
