where the sun sleeps
Sometimes when I’m in total darkness, I can think much clearer. Especially if I’m outside, which usually isn’t total darkness. I feel like my soul is singing harmonious melodies that enlighten my heart to everything fresh and everything old around me. Providing a new smell, a different taste to all the things I feel.
Something really wonderful about creation is that the discovery seems to be unlimited. I have been to many places in my little years and many of these places I’ve seen more than once, more than twice, I am always amazed at how different my eyes see each time. And it’s wonderful how different it looks when the sun goes to sleep.
When I was little, I used to look outside before going to bed. I’d wonder what the moon was thinking and if it was talking to the stars about wonderful memories it had seen on the other side of the world. I remember when I first learned that the sun never went away, we just rotated a bit so as to see the moon on the other side. That was so magnificent to me. The sky being something that always felt so untouchable to me, suddenly became a friend that I got to see everyday. And boy was I happy to be one of the souls the sun and the moon looked after.
