Behold:

a mess

an imperfection

a bundle of confusion

hurt

pain

heartache

all the loss

all the love

all of the living

all the burnt bridges

all the broken plates

all the tear-stained masks

all the broken families

all the hugs

all the hi’s

and all the bye’s

behold the good

Maybe the idea behind beholding is to be amazed amidst and within the ugly, not just the beauty. Maybe that allows us to be okay with the discomfort of incomplete-ness. maybe beholding is about sincerity, honesty, and transparency. Maybe that’s what allows us to awe at majesty: its honest transparency at being exactly as it was created to be. And maybe that’s why our eyes to get to look.
